June is Wound Healing Awareness Month

The American Board of Wound Management (ABWM) Foundation named June as Wound Healing Awareness Month (WHAM) in 2016, and AHP Foot & Wound Care Specialists are excited that this will be the second year of the wound care community celebrating this month. The purpose of this naming June as Wound Healing Awareness Month was to recognize the challenges experienced by individuals whose lives are affected daily by chronic wounds, and to bring awareness to the public of the support given by certified wound specialists.

Certified Wound Specialist week for 2017 will be June 20 – 24, 2017. During the week of June 20 – June 24, 2016, the ABWM Foundation acknowledges and celebrates all practitioners certified by the American Board of Wound Management which includes Certified Wound Care Associates®, Certified Wound Specialists®, and Certified Wound Specialist Physicians®.

In addition to years of experience treating a variety of wounds, Dr. Todd Mann is a Certified Wound Specialist. This certification is a formal recognition of a master level knowledge and specialty practice in wound management, and requires continuous education courses in wound care.

At AHP Foot & Wound Care Specialists, our team are health care professionals who have been trained in the care and treatment of all types of wounds. Specialists can have a significant impact on the quality of life for those suffering from wounds that will not heal. Wounds can cause a disruption in everyday life and the sooner these are healed the quicker a patient can resume their normal daily activities without disruption.
